Murray Sunset National Park, in Victoria's far north-west corner, is the State's largest national park. It is in one of the few remaining semi-arid regions in the world where the environment is relatively untouched. With its wide open landscapes, breathtaking sunsets, starry nights, vastness and isolation; the park is not the place for a day trip - longer stays are recommended. The Shearers Quarters is an historic self-contained cottage that sleeps up to 14 people.
Accommodation fees cover the costs associated with maintaining the Shearer’s Quarters to an acceptable standard and the staff time required to prepare the site. Before visitors arrive, Parks Victoria staff drive out to the site to clean, pump water to the header tank and turn on gas to provide lights and refrigeration.
