    A ballot is held for booking Tidal River camping and accommodation (except Wilderness Retreats) for the December/January school holiday period. Minimum stays apply. Applications for the 2021-22 summer ballot have been finalised.

    Please note, there is still availability for camping in week 1 (Sun 19/12/2021 – Sun 26/12/2021).

    Melbourne Cup weekend bookings open at 9am, Monday 6 September 2021.
    4 night minimum stay applies.
    Arrive: Friday, 29 October 2021. Depart: Tuesday, 2 November 2021.

    Details

    Summer school holidays - A ballot is held for booking Tidal River camping and accommodation (except Wilderness Retreats) for the period from late December until late January. Note, this is not a first in, first served booking process. The ballot is a random computer selection. The allocation is based on where your application is situated in the randomised queue. Minimum/maximum stays apply.

    Labour Day, Easter and Melbourne Cup weekend - Campsites at Tidal River will be allocated on a first-in first-served basis for the Labour Day, Easter and Melbourne Cup weekend booking periods. Allocation is determined by availability and the preferences selected within your booking request.

    All requests are considered final and cannot be altered once submitted. Cancellation fees will apply if you change your mind.

    Booking Terms and Conditions and frequently asked questions

    When you submit your booking request you will receive an email to confirm that your request has been received. You will receive a further notification email to advise the result of your request once the allocation process has been completed. Submitting a booking request does not guarantee allocation.

    Campsite preferences
    Please select your first preference when choosing a powered or unpowered campsite or accommodation from the options above. Additional preference options, including the ability to enter specific site locations and requirements, are available in the next step of the booking request process.

    Only a limited number of powered campsites are available to request. Sites will show as sold if the maximum allocation has been reached.

    Payment
    Payment details are required to submit an application. Should your request be successful payment will be processed via our secure payment gateway.

    Group (multi-site) bookings
    To make a group booking simply add additional sites to your cart after you enter your initial site request. Only select the "Buy Now" option once all site details have been entered. A maximum of 10 sites can be requested per transaction.

    You need to provide the details (name, phone, vehicle registration) of the other members of your group. Payment for group bookings is the responsibility of the group leader.

    Total cost
    The total cost shown for your booking request is calculated as the maximum possible cost of a booking according to the highest priced preference selected in your application.

    Cancellation Policy

    Once sites have been allocated cancellations will be subject to cancellation fees as follows:

    30 days or more notice - 50 per cent of booking amount.
    Less than 30 day notice - 100 per cent of booking amount.
    Transfers are not permitted.

    APPLICATION - Powered Campsite

    All powered sites are 8m x 8m. Tidal River campground has 20 powered campsites located on Second, Third and Fourth Avenues and beautifully situated near Norman Beach and Tidal River. No more than 6 people (including children and infants) can camp on each site.

    Campground facilities include modern amenity blocks with toilets and hot showers, laundry facilities and dishwashing stations. Nearby picnic areas are equipped with free gas barbecues. A dump point is available at the Overnight Hikers car park. Generators and fires, including solid fuel heating compounds, are not permitted in Wilsons Promontory National Park, including Tidal River campground. Check in: 11am Check out: 11am. Please check in at the visitors centre upon arrival. If arriving after hours, please call ahead. Always check the after hours information posted outside the visitors centre, prior to entering the campground.

    APPLICATION - Unpowered Campsite

    Tidal River campground has 455 unpowered campsites, beautifully situated near Norman Beach and Tidal River. No more than 6 people can camp on each site, including children and infants. Maximum of 2 cars per site.

    Campground facilities include modern amenity blocks with toilets and hot showers, laundry facilities and dishwashing stations. Nearby picnic areas are equipped with free gas barbecues. A dump point is available at the Overnight Hikers car park. Generators and fires, including solid fuel heating compounds, are not permitted in Wilsons Promontory National Park, including Tidal River campground.
